APFL's Wichita Falls will not play any home games

The Wichita Falls Diablo’s will play in the American Professional Football League this year but will not play any home games in the 2008 season.

Aaron Magallanez, the general manager of the team, said that the ownership group “couldn’t get everything done in time to get on the schedule for home games” at Kay Yeager Coliseum.

The team has five APFL South Division road games scheduled at the Conroe Storm (April 12 and May 17); at Texas/Alvarado Regulators (June 7); at the Florida Knights in Sarasota (June 13) and at the Beaumont Drillers (July 5).

If APFL history can be a guide, then I give those two games a 10 percent chance of being played. The APFL is very consistent in repeating past mistakes.

Let's just hope that WF shows up. I'd like to go see that game. But I'm torn between that game and the Odessa @ Frisco game on the 6th.

What teams like WF need to do is find a town that has a facility and that wants an indoor football team and play their home games their. There are a lot of places that are out there that are affordable and would love to host a team. Then, if it works out, they can either stay in that town or go back to WF next season and hopefully someone would see the success in the new town and put a team of their own there in 2009.
