Katy is loaded this year with talent! They were a few plays last year from being the best team in the league. This year they have brought back some of there top players and then added even more great talent, like former Raven Randy Hymes, and former Texan Jamaal Lord. I truly believe the opposing teams in the Ifl are in trouble, especially the Db's!

Katy didn't make my top 4 preseason rankings in the Intense League. I hope they have a good season.

MY PRE-SEASON RANKING IS:
1. Louisiana. (Champs until someone takes their crown)
2. Frisco. (I like their schedule)
3. Corpus Christi (Losing Cooper I believe will be big)
4. Odessa (finished strong last season)
5. Katy (Good team last year, still needs to prove they can beat the top teams)
6. Alaska (Only cause they are playing Fairbanks 4 times)
7. San Angelo ( Not enough talent)
8. Cen Tex (2-12 last year only beat Alaska)
9. Fairbanks (lacking football players that can play at this level)

I dont think louisiana will be as dominate this year! They dont have harrison back, and I found out that they wont be having Ty Sellers like they thought! He will be playing in the AF2, trust me on that! Frisco downgraded from last year on signing Wes Cooper, he has been winning on a team that ran the ball. Corpus won games by running the ball, not by the arm of Cooper! as for Corpus, i dont think that running is going to be sufficent enouh this year, so they may benefit by losing Cooper and getting a better replacement to pass! Odessa, you never know! They are so unpredictable, with how the schedule is this year, they cant start out too slow! Katy will win the big games this year. They lost most games by lessthan 10 points last year! This year they are stacked with talent and experience! Looking at the offseason signing, no other team in the IFL, has more talent! They are doing a great job in Katy this year, recruiting talent! Look for them to host the IFL championshuip game, and go on to with the new championship game also. As for the other four teams, they will battle it out at the bottom again, and see who will not lose to fairbanks, who dont stand a chance!

I think that Katy looks to have a tremendous amount of talent. From looking at the roster I would say that Katy has a lot of well known names. Odessa has a lot of guys on the roster who look to be good prospects once you do the research. The DE from Kansas (Rodney Allen) looks good for Odessa. And the DB Tony Lukins is a player who has played in Arena 1. And I have heard through the grapevine that the new QB (they have not announced him yet) has played in Arena 1 as well. Shomari Earls (LB-Florida Atlantic) looks good when you google him as well. Also, Marco Martin (DL) from the University of Texas is an interesting prospect if he is in shape.

Permianman, I was reading in the transactions where Odessa released Jermain Blakely. What's the story behind that?

The story I hear from the players that he was living with in Odessa is that he signed with the AIFA league because they offered him money as a franchise player. I think the franchise players in that league make $500 per game. He had signed with Odessa and had moved into town until he was offered the cash in the other league. At Blakely's age now I really think that Rodney Allen (DE-Kansas) is a better player (definitely a better pass rusher) at this point. And they also have Patrick Lindsey, the DE from Crane, TX who had been playing in Amarillo in Af2. Don't get me wrong Blakely could still be productive as a role player but his days of being the go to quarterback sacker may have been over anyway.

It's only one game, and it was in Frisco. Season's not over yet. I'm still keeping Katy at #5 in my rankings though until the prove to me that I'm wrong.
