 http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/111104/spo_17157614.shtml

The above article is hilarious.... a week to go, and the Jacksonville Wave (who was supposed to play "home" games (http://searchmiracle.com/text/search.php?qq=games) in Kingsland, GEORGIA), have now been kicked out of their "home" court. The article also says that with 10 days to go, the roster isn't set either.... this has to be the next in line of teams that aren't going to start the season on time...

They aren't the only ones. In a recent article (sorry no link) I read that after firing their coach and ALL of the players the Warriors "will still be ready" for the tipoff.

However, of their 18 home games, only 7 are available to them, so they are still looking or a place to play the other 11!!!!!

Sorry,

I just read about Atlanta too. In today's press release the Atlanta Mustangs (formerly the Gwizzlies) say "The Mustangs HOME OPENER is Friday, December 3rd………stay tuned for Home Court location announcements"

Shouldn't teams know where they are playing BEFORE the schedule comes out. That way, they can make sure that they aren't playing in a church basement like the ABA had to (oops, forgot that this IS the ABA again!!)

The Wave and the Mustangs will rock and roll this winter. Great arenas, great crowds, great basketball. The ABA is serious, big-time sports. Anyone who misses it will be seriously deprived.

So you also can't wait for the fast-paced, exciting brand of ABA basketball coming this upcoming season?

You forgot "affordable."

Can't forget "affordable, fan-friendly entertainment."

That's the ABA's motto.

Organization, no that's not our motto. Getting stuff done on time, no that's not our motto. Following through on plans, no that's not our motto.

Heard Chianti Roberts, minor league vagabond player now General Manager of the ABA team in Oklahoma City, on a OKC sports talk radio show...they are playing at a small high school in a not so good part of town...they don't know when the opener is (the poor radio host said "So your opener is on Nov. 22 (or whatever date he said)...Roberts responded..."No...we think it will be on Dec. 1 (or whatever date he said)

When asked how to get tickets...Roberts said that they would be available at the door...

ABA at its finest...
