The Krunk rolled with five and no Kenny Anderson or jerseys last night. What's the deal with the jerseys this season?

It took Minot until the third quarter to get it rolling, but they did. Can't find the box on the CBA web site yet, but would guess the crowd was a little over 1,000 in Minot on a weeknight. They usually do 1,000 on weeknights, 1,300-1,500 on weekends.

It was announced last night at 1300 plus. Temperature was around 20 below with a wind, so I was impressed by the die hard crowd. Supposedly, the jerseys were lost in transit, and they are going to have them tonight. I felt sorry for the players, as they used masking tape to make numerals on their practice jerseys, which kept coming off. Atlanta put up a good battle the first half, but lack of subs really hurt them later. Anyone know what's going on in Atlanta?

The Minot Newspaper said it was because of the "Abundance of sickness following the All-Star break".

Hope this works. It should be the box of the game.

Miguel Millian left the team over a month ago, can that box score be right?

It can if he got re-signed. The Minot Daily News even said he was on the team. I guess I'll have to watch the video feed from Minot tonight and flip between that and the Albany-EKY matchup.

Krunk put "Milleon, Miguel #30" in the book last night. Other players called him "Miguel" several times. I think its him!!! Want a photo from tonight's game??

According to the box score, Larry Williams and Bilel Simmons both should have fouled out. I thought disqualified players weren't allowed to play under any circumstances, meaning the team would have to play with less than five on the court. Or are the CBA's rules on this different than the NBA/NCAA? Chuck?

This actually happened a couple weeks ago in an Arizona women's game. The team lost in double overtime with two players on the court:

They don't foul out in the CBA. After the 6th foul, each foul a player commits is also a technical and gives the other team an extra free throw. I was at a Cavs game this year when Daryan Selvy committed 9 fouls.

Fair enough. I thought the "sixth foul" rule was just one of those wacky ABA rules.

I know that's been a long-time CBA rule.

Funny thing is that I always saw Idaho bench any 6-foul folk during the CBA era.

The rule has been in place for many years, even going back as far as the old Eastern League days. I can't remember the year offhand, but there were a couple of games in the 1950's when several players fouled out and the game turned into a 5-on-3 battle. For a while, the rule was that if you were down to five players and one of those achieved their sixth foul, they would be escorted from the game, but could be replaced by another player who had previously fouled out - plus the other team got a technical foul shot.

By the mid-1970's, the rule was in place that a team could not have their players foul out (which is how the CBA can have a maximum of ten players on their rosters - notice I said maximum), resorting in the technical foul shot on the 7th foul. However, those players are usually taken out of the game by their coach so as not to award the opposing team extra points on ticky-tack fouls.

What was the Krunk situation last nite. Is it more than the flu? I have to think so. Did the "sick" players make the trip? Is it the near the end for the Krunk?

Krunk dressed only five again. Overheard their equip. mgr. / coach say that they'd be back up to full strength "soon". He didn't really have an answer when I asked him about Zeck Marbury's status. Their jerseys didn't show up either, supposedly they were sent to Pittsburgh. Its too bad. Those Atlanta guys played their tails off the last two nights. They're a pretty talented bunch in that they all showed they could shoot from range and they provided some entertaining dunks. All five are basically athletic swingmen-type players, all around 6' 7"...... weird but fascinating to see 5 clones on the court for 48 straight minutes. They really put out the effort and should be commended (as they were both nights by the Minot announcer and fans).

It appears the Krunk are going with 5. The flu story seems pretty far fetched. Did they at least have their uniforms? Those poor guys, very sad sitiuation. How about Butte, still going with the player coach?

no more than 5 players on the Atlanta bench last night and the Krunk did appear to be wearing their uniforms.

Probably the worst situation I've heard of in doing my CBA research occurred in 1968. The Asbury Park (N.J.) Boardwalkers went to Binghamton (NY) for a game against the Binghamton Flyers. Due to a snowstorm, only one of the two cars of players showed up at the game - four men. Rather than forfeit the game and pay a hefty fine to the league, the team had to dress their equipment manager, Rudy Korensky, who hadn't played organized basketball in 20 years, to put five men on the court. Naturally, the Boardwalkers were getting killed by the Flyers (the Flyers had Swish McKinney on the team that season, who during that 32-game season had seven games of 50 points or more).

Eventually the fans knew the game would be a Flyers blowout and were cheering for the possibility of Rudy Korensky to score some points - any points. Eventually he got two points on free throws, and the crowd gave him polite cheers. After the game, Kornesky, who had played all 48 minutes in one way or another, had to be carried off the court - his feet were bloody and his blood pressure had skyrocketed.

Believe me, I don't want that to ever be me. That, and I don't want to set a league record for most turnovers in a game, most fouls, worst field goal percentage, worst free throw percentage, etc. I think I'll stay behind the camera lens and fake a hamstring injury. :)

Any word about how many will suit tonite? Has any players been added to Platoons roster? Stickland was waived by Pittsburgh will the Pats pick him up?

The Atlanta no uniform thing is crazy. Why doesnt the league send a team rep down to a sporting goods store and buy them some matching nike shorts and tops. Good god it might cost 150.00 for all 5 guys. That is a disgrace to the the league. Taping on the #'s . I have been a Cba follower for 14 yrs and I never seen uniform issues ever. It has been ongoing all year. Do other people feel this way?

I followed the CBA for the entire six years the Steelheads were in the CBA and you're right--not once was there a uniform issue. This kind of stuff only started when the CBA became the CBA/ABA and started letting anyone into the league.

It was stated earlier that the uniforms were provided/sponsored by Marbury's brother, Stephon. It certainly seems that when Marbury went "inactive" so did the use of "his" uniforms..... I've heard the analogy taking your ball and going home, but did he have to take the uniforms also?

You are definitly on to something. If Marbury was wronged, as I am sure he was. He would take his "STARBURY"S" and go home. I cant beleive I didnt think of that. Maybe when ZECK get's over the"flu" he will give them back.In Yakima at the store that provides uniforms for BB teams(aau etc)
They told me they could get uniforms printed and delivered in week. SunKIng Dez Ferguson has a clothing company http://www.moneyballsportswear.com/
The league could help out one of their own.
